Introduction — CQM Scopes and Subscopes

CQM requirements apply to a range of CQM Products and Components (subsequently referred to as "products"), such as IC Cards ("ICC") or IC Modules ("ICM").

Each set of CQM requirements applicable to a specific CQM product or component is considered a CQM Scope.

Within a CQM Scope, a range of CQM Subscopes are defined.

CQM Subscopes can be of a technical nature, for example:

  • Inlays only containing a wire embedded antenna
  • Inlays containing an antenna and an IC

CQM Subscopes can relate to different phases in the lifecycle of a product, for example:

  • Development
  • Qualification
  • Production

CQM Subscopes can relate to different roles in the supply change, for example:

  • Vendor of an IC, responsible for development, qualification, and production of the IC
  • Subcontractor to IC Vendor, providing only testing services

The following pages define the different CQM Scopes and Subscopes:
