Introduction — CQM Scopes and Subscopes
CQM requirements apply to a range of CQM Products and Components (subsequently referred to as "products"), such as IC Cards ("ICC") or IC Modules ("ICM").
Each set of CQM requirements applicable to a specific CQM product or component is considered a CQM Scope.
Within a CQM Scope, a range of CQM Subscopes are defined.
CQM Subscopes can be of a technical nature, for example:
- Inlays only containing a wire embedded antenna
- Inlays containing an antenna and an IC
CQM Subscopes can relate to different phases in the lifecycle of a product, for example:
- Development
- Qualification
- Production
CQM Subscopes can relate to different roles in the supply change, for example:
- Vendor of an IC, responsible for development, qualification, and production of the IC
- Subcontractor to IC Vendor, providing only testing services
